Message from Kittyhawk Post Co-President Col Jeffrey Todd

I am honored and excited to be able to partner with April Lewis as a Co-President of the Kittyhawk Post. I have been awed by the Post’s organization, involvement and accomplishments. It has been a very active couple of months. We are still receiving great feedback on our Industry Day held in May, which focused on Energy Trends and Developments. We also had a great time at a Dayton Dragons baseball game preceded by an impressive BBQ tailgating event. In between those events, several Post members attended the 2012 Joint Engineer Training Conference in St. Louis. It was my pleasure to join Alan Hautman at the Awards Breakfast and accept five streamer awards, four with distinction as well as recognition as a Distinguished Post. I commend Alan, the Board, its committees and the membership for these great accomplishments. The amazing keynote speaker at JETC was Eric Greitens, a former Navy SEAL and a Rhodes Scholar. I recommend you look for his book, The Heart and the Fist, and check out his charity supporting wounded warriors, www.missioncontinues.org. As expected, the exhibit hall, technical sessions and networking opportunities were outstanding. I hope our collective budgets, travel rules, and schedules allow us to attend the 2013 JETC in San Diego. I also encourage you to join us at the Ohio Valley and Great Lakes Joint Engineer Training Symposium August 27-29 in Pittsburgh.
